(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천 서구가 오는 3월부터 저소득층 자녀에게 양질의 외국어 교육을 지원함으로써 교육 기회의 형평성을 제고하고 글로벌 시대에 걸맞는 인재로 성장할 수 있는 기반을 마련하고자 관내 저소득층 자녀를 위한 외국어교육 지원 사업을 시행한다고 밝혔다.
서구에 따르면, 올해에는 기존에 지원하던 서구영어마을이 운영 종료됨에 따라 원어민과 1:1 화상영어 지원 사업을 월 420명으로 확대·실시한다.
대상자는 주소지 동 행정복지센터에서 오는 1월 19일부터 30일까지 신청할 수 있으며 본인 부담 수강료는 월 1만 원이며 수업에 필요한 교구와 교재는 수강자가 부담해야 한다.
대상자 선정은 1순위 국민기초생활보장 수급자, 2순위 차상위계층, 학교 밖 청소년, 다문화 가족, 외국인 및 난민의 자녀, 3순위 ‘건강보험료’ 납부액 기준 전국 가구 중위소득 100% 이하에 속하는 가구 중 1, 2순위가 우선 선발된다.
동일 순위 내 동일 소득 수준일 경우 저소득, 다자녀가구, 고학년 순 등으로 선발된다.
