【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=김병욱 포항시장 출마예정자가 정부의 공공기관 2차 이전 로드맵에 맞춰 한국원자력의학원과 한국에너지기술평가원, 한국환경공단 등 3대 공공기관의 포항 이전을 핵심으로 하는 ‘포항 재창조 프로젝트 4호’를 발표했다.

김 예정자는 13일 정책 발표를 통해 “국토교통부가 2027년 이전을 목표로 공공기관 2차 이전 방침을 확정한 만큼, 단순한 기관 배분이 아닌 지역 산업과 연계된 개별 이전 전략으로 포항의 미래를 바꾸겠다”며 “3대 전략 기관 유치에 전력을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

김 예정자는 이번 공공기관 이전이 성사될 경우 상주 인원 약 4,500명을 포함해 가족 동반 이주 시 약 1만 명 이상의 인구 유입 효과가 있을 것으로 전망했다. 아울러 혁신도시법에 따른 지역 인재 의무 채용 비율을 활용해 포스텍과 한동대 등 지역 대학 졸업생들에게 양질의 일자리를 제공하겠다는 계획도 제시했다.

김 예정자는 “국회의원 시절 쌓은 국정 경험과 여야를 아우르는 인적 네트워크를 총동원해 정부와 협상하겠다”며 “시장 직속 ‘공공기관 포항 이전 대응팀’을 즉시 가동해 2027년 이전 경쟁에서 포항이 성과를 거두도록 하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Kim Ye-jeong-ja predicted that if this public institution relocation is successful, it will result in a population influx of approximately 4,500 residents, including over 10,000 people who move with their families.
