이재명 대통령이 13일(현지시간) 한·일 정상회담 후 "양국이 교역 중심 협력을 넘어 경제안보·과학기술·국제규범을 함께 만들어 가기 위한 보다 포괄적 협력이 필요하다는 데 공감했다"고 밝혔다.
이 대통령은 이날 오후 일본 나라현 회담장에서 다카이치 사나에 일본 총리와의 회담 후 공동 언론 발표에서 "오늘 정상회담에서 저와 다카이치 총리는 그간 양국이 정착시켜 온 셔틀외교 토대 위에서 양국 간 미래지향적 협력을 지속하기 위한 실질 방안들에 대해 폭넓게 논의했다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
그러면서 "이런 협력 방안 모색을 위해 관계당국 간 논의를 개시하기로 했다"며 "인공지능·지식재산보호 등 분야에서 양국 간 협력을 더욱 심화시키기 위한 실무협의를 이어나가기로 했다"고 전했다.
또 "지역·글로벌 현안에 폭넓게 의견을 교환하고, 급변하는 국제정세 속 역내 평화·안정을 위한 한·일-한·미·일 협력 중요성에 대해서도 뜻을 함께했다"며 "양국은 한반도 완전 비핵화·항구적 평화 구축 의지를 재확인하고 대북정책에 긴밀한 공조를 이어가기로 했다"고 전했다.
이어 "1942년 일본 조세이 탄광에서 183명 한국인·일본인이 수몰 사망한 사고가 있었고 80여 년이 지난 지난해 8월 유해가 발견된 바 있다"며 "양국은 동 유해 신원 확인을 위한 DNA 감정을 추진키로 하고 구체적 사항은 당국 간 실무 협의를 진행키로 했다"고 전했다.
