고양특례시의회 기획행정위원회가 주민자치 활성화를 위한 제도적 기반 마련에 나섰다.
기획행정위원회는 14일 고양특례시의회 영상회의실에서 고양특례시 주민자치협의회(회장 배상은)와 간담회를 열고 주민자치회의 운영 현황과 개선 방안을 집중 논의했다고 밝혔다.
이번 간담회는 실질적인 주민 대표 기구로서 주민자치회의 역할 강화와 안정적 운영 기반 마련을 위해 의회와 주민자치협의회 간 소통 채널을 구축하기 위해 마련됐다.

간담회에는 공소자 위원장을 비롯해 권용재, 김영식, 이종덕, 이철조, 정민경 의원 등 기획행정위원회 소속 의원들과 배상은 주민자치협의회장을 포함한 협의회 임원진 7명이 참석했다.
주민자치협의회 측은 현장에서 직면한 어려움을 솔직하게 전달했다. 협의회 관계자들은 "주민자치 활성화를 위한 행정적·재정적 지원이 충분하지 않은 상황"이라며 "의회 차원에서 제도적 뒷받침을 강화해 달라"고 요청했다.
