시는 지난 12일 시청 시정회의실에서 ‘선행하기 좋은 날, 포천시 천사데이’ 이웃돕기 기탁식을 개최했다고 밝혔다. ‘천사데이’는 매달 14일 전후를 기부의 날로 지정해 후원자들이 정기적으로 교류하고 나눔의 가치를 확산시키기 위해 추진 중인 포천시의 독자적인 나눔 브랜드다.

이번 1월 행사에는 협동농장을 비롯해 ㈜비추미글래스, 한울요양원, 포천농축산주식회사, 승리건설 등 관내 5개 기업과 단체가 참여해 이웃 사랑을 실천했다. 이날 기탁된 성금과 현물은 총 2,684만 원 상당으로, 경기 침체 속에서도 지역 사회를 향한 기업들의 따뜻한 손길이 돋보였다.

전달된 기부금품은 포천시의 공식 이웃돕기 성금 계좌인 ‘희망곳간’에 예치된다. 이후 관내 복지 사각지대에 놓인 취약계층과 도움이 필요한 이웃들을 위해 지정된 용도에 맞춰 투명하게 사용될 예정이다.
