Yangju City Holds 2026 Local Food Research Association Annual General Meeting and New Year's Practical Training for Farmers
We will preserve and develop the region's unique food culture through systematic research and practice-oriented education on local cuisine, and continue various food culture activities with citizens.
[Break News Yangju=Kim Wan-young] Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province, held the "2026 Local Food Research Association Annual General Meeting and Food Culture Training" at the Yangju City Agricultural Technology Center on the 22nd.
Thirty-three members of the Local Food Research Association attended the meeting, where they reviewed and finalized the 2025 business report and the 2026 business and budget management plan. Participants shared their opinions on stable operation of the association and future development directions, building a consensus on activities for the new year.
Following the general meeting, the venue moved to the Agricultural Technology Center's Living Science Lab for food culture training. Forty-two members, including members, participated in the training, which included a hands-on experience in making barley makjang (fermented soybean paste) under the theme, "Making Soybeans Using Korean Agricultural Products."
This training program was evaluated as an opportunity to reflect on the value of local cuisine and the importance of traditional food culture by experiencing the process of making traditional fermented foods using local agricultural products firsthand.
The Yangju City Local Cuisine Research Association strengthens communication and solidarity among members through annual general meetings and practical training, while continuously contributing to the preservation of local cuisine and the spread of local food culture.
A research association official stated, "We will continue to preserve and develop the region's unique food culture through systematic research and practical training on local cuisine, and we will continue to engage with citizens in various food culture activities."
