【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천군은 오는 2027년 공공비축미곡 매입 품종으로 ‘알찬미’와 ‘청품’을 최종 선정했다고 30일 밝혔다.
군은 NH농협은행 진천군지부 관계자, 농업인단체 대표, 관계 공무원 등 16명으로 구성된 공공비축미곡 매입 품종 선정 심의회를 통해 이같이 결정했다.
관내 재배 환경과의 적합성, 쌀의 품질(미질), 원활한 종자 수급 가능성 등 다각적인 요소를 종합적으로 검토해 두 품종을 최종 매입 품종으로 낙점했다.
매입 품종으로 선정된 ‘알찬미’는 뛰어난 맛과 품질로 이미 시장에서 우수성을 인정받고 있는 품종이다.
새롭게 이름을 올린 ‘청품’은 지역 적응성이 뛰어나고 원활한 종자 수급이 예상돼, 안정적인 생산이 가능하다는 점에서 높은 점수를 받았다.
향후 군은 2027년 공공비축미곡 매입이 차질 없이 진행될 수 있도록 선정 품종에 대한 홍보를 강화하는 한편, 농가가 적기에 우량종자를 확보할 수 있도록 행정적 지원을 아끼지 않을 방침이다.
