Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province, Appoints Kim Wan-young, an Administrative Licensed Professional, as Vice President of the Environmental Forum

[Break News Yangju=Reporter Kim Tae-young] Kim Wan-young, an administrative licensed professional (former Secretary General of the Korean Society of Administrative Law), who works in administrative affairs in Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province, was appointed Vice President and Registered Director at the Environmental Forum's regular general meeting on the 29th of last month.
The Environmental Forum is the only incorporated association approved by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment (abbreviated as the Ministry of Climate). The relationship between the environment and humans is closely intertwined and mutually influences one another. Its mission is to research and implement the "impact of the human environment, the impact of the environment on humans, and the relationship between the environment and society and politics."
Vice Chairman Kim Wan-young, who was appointed that day, stated, "We will study the difficulties faced by local governments due to the ban on direct landfilling of household waste and propose alternative solutions. We will also introduce an 'Environmental Personnel Selection System' to further promote environmental awareness following the reorganization of the Ministry of Climate Change. We will also establish a lifelong education center to provide basic environmental education to the public in their daily lives. We will restructure our internal organization and national network. We will also launch an online newspaper to monitor and propose policy alternatives for the environment and people."
Shim Jae-gon, Chairman of the Environmental Personnel Forum, a non-profit organization, is a former Director of Planning and Management at the Ministry of Environment. He is a living witness to the December 1994 nationwide garbage dumping uproar and the nationwide implementation of the "Waste Disposal Fee System" on January 1st of the following year.
Chairman Shim stated, "The volume-based waste fee system has now become established. Starting this year, 2026, direct landfilling will be banned, and incineration will be the only acceptable method of landfilling. Therefore, I will work on policy consultations related to incinerator site construction and persuading residents."
