[브레이크뉴스 양주=김완영 기자] 경기도 양주시가 회천1동 복합청사가 3년 7개월간의 건립 공사를 마치고, 오는 2월 9일부터 신청사에서 행정업무를 시작한다.
신청사는 양주시 덕정길 67에 위치해 있으며, 지하 2층・지상 8층 연면적 10,013㎡ 규모로 조성됐다.
회천1동 복합청사는 ‘경기 꿈틀 생활SOC 복합화 사업’의 일환으로 건립됐으며, 그동안 분산돼 있던 행정·돌봄·문화 기능을 한 공간에 통합해 주민 편의를 높이고 지역 공동체 활성화에 기여하기 위해 추진됐다.
주요시설로는 2층 행정복지센터와 7~8층 주민자치센터가 있으며, 해당 시설은 먼저 업무를 개시한다. 아울러 1층 공립회천어린이집, 3층 회천1동 다함께돌봄센터, 4층 회천생활문화센터, 5~6층 양주시청년센터 등 다양한 공공·생활시설도 2026년 상반기 내 입주할 예정이다.
양주시 관계자는 “회천1동 복합청사는 행정 서비스 제공 뿐 아니라보육, 돌봄, 문화, 청년 활동이 유기적으로 어우러지는 생활SOC 복합공간”이라며, “공공시설의 효율적인 운영과 주민 일상 지원 기능을 한데 모아 지역 공동체 활성화의 새로운 중심 역할을 수행할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 전했다.
