[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 종량제봉투의 불법 제작과 유통을 차단하기 위해 한국조폐공사의 위·변조 방지 기술을 적용한 새로운 종량제봉투를 도입한다고 2일 밝혔다.
시는 한국조폐공사와 종량제봉투 보안 기술 도입을 위한 계약을 체결하고, 위조 종량제봉투에 대한 관리 체계를 강화키로 했다.
시는 그동안 종량제봉투는 육안으로 정품 여부를 구별하기 어렵고 단순 바코드 구조로 인해 복제가 가능하다는 한계가 지속적으로 지적돼 왔다.
이에 진주시는 한국조폐공사가 자체 개발한 위·변조 방지 기술인 ‘스마트 정글’을 종량제봉투에 새롭게 적용한다.
스마트 정글 기술은 인쇄물의 미세 구조를 암호화한 특수 패턴을 활용해 복제와 위·변조를 원천 차단하는 방식이다.
또 스마트폰 전용 앱 수무늬를 통해 시민 누구나 종량제봉투의 정품 여부를 손쉽게 확인할 수 있도록 제작했다.
진주시는 위·변조 방지 기술이 적용된 종량제봉투는 오는 3월 이후 순차적으로 시중에 공급 할 예정이다.
진주시 관계자는 “종량제봉투의 위조 유통을 근절해 공정한 폐기물 처리 질서를 확립하고 시민 신뢰를 높이겠다”고 말했다.
