고양특례시가 인공지능(AI)과 첨단 기술을 접목한 스마트농업을 필두로 ‘지속 가능한 미래 농업’으로의 대전환을 선포했다.
고양시는 지난 2일 고양시농업기술센터에서 업무보고회를 열고, 2026년 상반기 농업 분야 4대 핵심 과제인 ▲청년농업인 육성 ▲스마트농업 확산 ▲안전한 먹거리 공급 ▲도시·치유농업 활성화를 본격 추진한다고 밝혔다.
시는 우선 고령화되는 농촌에 활력을 불어넣기 위해 청년농업인 영농정착 지원과 후계농 육성자금 지원을 확대한다.

특히 일손 부족 문제를 해결하기 위해 외국인 계절근로자를 적극 도입하고, 농가 경영 불안을 해소할 농작물재해보험 지원을 강화하여 안정적인 성장 기반을 다질 계획이다.
도심 공간을 활용한 혁신적인 농업 모델도 제시됐다.
방치된 지하보도를 활용한 지하보도 스마트팜과 실내 공간을 활용한 인도어팜(Indoor Farm) 등 도심형 스마트농업을 확대한다.

시민들의 밥상을 책임질 먹거리 인프라도 강화된다.
로컬푸드 직매장을 확대 설치하고 학교급식 공급체계를 효율적으로 개선해 생산자와 소비자 간의 거리를 좁힌다.
더불어 축산 분야에서는 악취 방지 등 환경 개선과 함께 스마트 방역체계를 구축해 시민 생활과 상생하는 친환경 축산업을 육성한다.
기후 위기에 대응한 농산물 생산체계를 마련하고, 단순 생산을 넘어 삶의 질을 높이는 치유농업 프로그램을 대폭 확대한다.
