【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 남구청이 청년 예술인의 창작 기반을 강화하고 지역 문화에 활력을 불어넣기 위해 ‘2026년 청년 예술인(단체) 지원사업’ 공모를 시작한다. 남구는 공연예술과 시각예술(전시) 두 분야에서 총 1억1천만 원을 지원할 계획이다.
이 사업은 창작 여건이 열악한 지역 청년 예술인들에게 실제로 작품을 제작하고 발표할 수 있는 기회를 제공하는 데 초점을 맞췄다. 남구청은 “단발성 행사에 그치는 지원이 아니라, 지역에 뿌리내린 청년 예술 활동이 이어질 수 있도록 돕는 것이 목표”라고 밝혔다.
공연예술 분야는 음악, 연극, 무용, 전통예술 등 전 장르에 걸쳐 대구에 소재한 청년 단체가 지원할 수 있다. 단체 대표는 만 18세 이상 39세 이하 청년이어야 하며, 심사를 통해 팀당 1,500만 원에서 최대 2,000만 원까지 차등 지원금이 지급된다. 자체 기획 공연뿐만 아니라 앞산축제 참여 프로그램도 지원 대상에 포함된다.
심사는 프로그램의 완성도와 실행 가능성, 지역성, 지속가능성을 중심으로 이뤄진다. 특히 공연 기획안과 예산의 구체성, 남구·대구 문화 생태계와의 연계 여부 등이 주요 평가 기준이다. 공연 분야 접수는 내년 2월 10일부터 12일까지 진행된다.
시각예술 전시 분야는 남구 이천동 배나무샘골 마을역사관을 무대로 한다. 회화, 조각, 사진 등 전 장르의 시각예술을 대상으로 하며, 청년 작가 5명(또는 팀)을 선발해 1인당 200만 원의 경비를 지원한다. 선정된 작가는 4월부터 11월 사이 최소 3주 이상 전시를 진행해야 한다.
전시 지원에는 전시실 대관과 전시 기획·실행 비용이 모두 포함된다. 작품 포트폴리오, 전시 콘셉트, 구성 계획 등이 심사에 반영된다. 전시 분야 접수는 2월 11일부터 13일까지 이메일로 받는다.
조재구 남구청장은 “청년 예술인들이 지역을 떠나지 않고 창작 활동을 이어갈 수 있도록 환경을 만드는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다”며 “앞으로도 남구의 문화 자산과 청년 예술 역량을 연결하는 다양한 지원 정책을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

Daegu Nam-gu Office is launching a call for applications for the "2026 Youth Artist (Group) Support Project" to strengthen the creative foundation of young artists and revitalize local culture. Nam-gu plans to provide a total of 110 million won in support across both performing arts and visual arts (exhibitions).
This project focuses on providing young artists in areas with limited creative environments with opportunities to produce and present their work. Nam-gu Office stated, "Our goal is not to provide support for one-off events, but to foster the continuation of rooted youth artistic activities in the region."
Youth groups based in Daegu across all genres of performing arts, including music, theater, dance, and traditional arts, are eligible to apply. Group leaders must be between the ages of 18 and 39, and teams will receive a differentiated grant amount ranging from 15 million won to a maximum of 20 million won, based on a screening process. Support is available for both self-produced performances and Apsan Festival participation programs.
The evaluation will focus on the program's completeness, feasibility, regionality, and sustainability. Key evaluation criteria include the specificity of the performance plan and budget, as well as its connection to the Nam-gu and Daegu cultural ecosystems. Applications for the performance category will be accepted from February 10th to 12th of next year.
The visual arts exhibition category will be held at the Baenamu Saemgol Village History Museum in Icheon-dong, Nam-gu. The exhibition will be open to all genres of visual art, including painting, sculpture, and photography. Five young artists (or teams) will be selected and each will receive KRW 2 million in financial support. Selected artists must exhibit their work for at least three weeks between April and November.
The exhibition support includes rental of the exhibition hall and all costs related to planning and execution. The portfolio, exhibition concept, and composition plan will be considered in the evaluation. Applications for the exhibition category will be accepted via email from February 11th to 13th.
Nam-gu District Mayor Cho Jae-gu said, “It is most important to create an environment where young artists can continue their creative activities without leaving the region,” and added, “We will continue to expand various support policies that connect Nam-gu’s cultural assets with the artistic capabilities of young people.”
