[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시 의창구 팔룡동이 겨울방학을 맞은 지역 청소년들의 안전한 일상을 지키기 위해 발 벗고 나섰다. 방학 기간 활동량이 많아진 청소년들이 유해 환경에 노출되거나 일탈 행위에 빠지는 것을 사전에 막기 위한 선제적 조치다.
팔룡동은 지난 4일 청소년지도위원회 및 관계 공무원들과 함께 관내 상업 지구를 중심으로 ‘청소년 유해환경 집중 점검 및 계도 활동’을 펼쳤다고 5일 밝혔다.
이번 점검은 청소년들의 발길이 잦은 숙박업소, PC방, 편의점 등을 대상으로 집중적으로 이뤄졌다. 점검반은 현장을 방문해 ▲청소년 출입·고용 금지 의무 준수 여부 ▲주류 및 담배 판매 행위 ▲유해 매체물 게시 및 비치 상태 등을 면밀히 확인했다.
특히 최근 사회적 문제로 대두되는 청소년 이성 혼숙 예방을 위해 숙박업소 업주들을 대상으로 관련 법규 준수를 강력히 당부하는 등 실효성 있는 계도 활동에 무게를 뒀다.
청소년지도위원회 전미희 위원장은 “겨울방학은 청소년들이 다양한 경험을 할 수 있는 중요한 시기인 만큼, 유해환경으로부터 안전하게 보호하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다”며 “앞으로도 지속적인 점검과 예방 활동을 통해 청소년들이 건강하게 성장할 수 있는 환경을 만들어 나가겠다”고 말했다.
