브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 한국마사회 말박물관이 2026년 초대작가들과 함께 찾아가는 순회전시를 시작한다.
말박물관은 2009년부터 해마다 약 5~7명의 초대작가를 선발해 꾸준히 전시를 열어왔다. 지금까지 약 75명의 작가가 말을 소재로 한 회화, 사진, 공예, 설치미술 등 다양한 분야의 전시를 열었으며, 이 중에는 첫 초대전을 통해 해외까지 진출한 사례로 있다.
예술 작품을 통한 아름다운 말문화 보급이라는 공동의 목표 아래 말박물관과 초대작가들은 전시 외에도 공공 조형물, 기념품 제작 같은 다양한 협업을 진행해 왔다. 올해는 말의 해인 병오년을 맞이해 ‘행복을 전하는 말’이라는 제목으로 전국 순회 전시를 연다.

한국마사회 관계자는 “이번 순회 전시는 민간과 협업을 통해 국민 체감형 문화 서비스를 제공하는 동시에 예술가들의 창작 활동과 작품유통을 지원하는 복합 문화 사업”이라며 “앞으로도 다양한 사업 파트너와 협력을 확대해 문화예술 지원을 지속적으로 강화할 계획이다”고 말했다.
