[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 더불어민주당 부산시당이 6월 지방선거를 앞두고 예비후보자 자격심사위원회를 본격 가동했다. 시당은 본격적인 선거 준비에 돌입했다.
1차 자격심사에는 기초단체장, 광역의원, 기초의원, 비례대표를 포함해 180여 명이 신청했다. 지난 2일 시작된 2차 신청에는 100명이 넘는 인원이 몰렸다.
예비후보자자격심사위원회는 최근 회의를 열고 1차 신청자에 대해 적격, 부적격, 정밀심사 여부를 결정했다. 적격 판정을 받은 인사는 선거관리위원회에 민주당 예비후보로 등록할 수 있으며, 이후 공직선거후보자추천관리위원회 심사를 받게 된다.
부산시당은 9일부터 2차 신청자에 대한 심사를 진행한다. 설 연휴 이후에는 공천관리위원회를 가동해 본격적인 선거체제로 전환한다.
김태만 예비후보자자격심사위원장은 “범죄 경력, 부동산 다주택 보유, 세금 체납 여부 등을 철저히 검증해 시민 눈높이에 맞는 도덕성과 능력을 갖춘 후보를 선정하겠다”고 말했다.

The Busan chapter of the Democratic Party of Korea has begun screening preliminary candidates for the June local elections as preparations move into full scale.
About 180 applicants registered in the first round for positions including district mayors, metropolitan councilors, local councilors and proportional representation seats. More than 100 additional applicants have already joined the ongoing second round that started on February 2.
The Preliminary Candidate Qualification Screening Committee recently held meetings to review the first round of applicants and decided on qualification, disqualification or further screening. Those who passed the review can register with the National Election Commission as preliminary Democratic Party candidates and proceed to the official nomination process.
The Busan chapter will begin the second round of screening on February 9 and plans to launch its Candidate Recommendation Committee after the Lunar New Year holiday to enter a full election mode.
Committee Chair Kim Tae man said the process will be thorough and strict focusing on criminal history multiple property ownership and tax payment records to select qualified and ethical candidates who meet public expectations.
