포천시는 지난 5일 시청 대회의실에서 ‘포천시립박물관 건립 추진 지원 대학생 서포터스’의 2025년 하반기 수료식과 2026년 상반기 발대식을 통합 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이날 행사는 지난 활동의 성과를 공유하고 새로운 출발을 다짐하는 자리로 마련됐다. 2025년 하반기 우수 활동자에 대한 상장 수여와 활동 후기 발표가 진행됐으며, 이어 시장과의 간담회를 통해 박물관 건립에 대한 청년들의 참신한 의견을 나누는 시간을 가졌다. 행사 직후에는 참석자 전원이 포천역사문화관을 찾아 전시를 관람하며 지역 역사에 대한 이해를 높였다.

새롭게 선발된 2026년 상반기 대학생 서포터스는 오는 6월까지 활동하게 된다. 이들은 포천 아트밸리 내에 2029년 개관을 목표로 추진 중인 시립박물관(연면적 약 7,000㎡) 건립의 필요성을 알리기 위한 현장 캠페인, 포천역사문화관 전시 및 교육 프로그램 운영 지원, 온·오프라인 홍보 등 다방면에서 활약할 예정이다.

시 관계자는 “그동안 열정적으로 활동해 준 서포터스들에게 감사하며, 새로 합류한 학생들도 박물관 건립을 위한 든든한 지원군이 되어주길 기대한다”며 “이들의 활동이 박물관 건립에 대한 시민들의 공감대를 확산시키는 기폭제가 되기를 바란다”고 전했다.
