[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 의병박물관이 2025년 한 해 동안 27만2920명의 관람객을 기록하며 2012년 개관 이후 역대 최다 관람객 수를 달성했다.
이는 전시 콘텐츠 확충과 군민 참여형 프로그램 운영이 성과를 거두며 의병박물관이 지역 대표 문화공간으로 자리매김했음을 보여준다.
의병박물관은 문화체육관광부가 실시한 2025년 공립박물관 인증평가에서 연속 2회 경남 군부 1위를 차지하며 전시·교육·운영 전반의 우수성을 인정받았다.
특히 지난해 10월 제2전시관 개관으로 전시 환경이 확대되면서 관람객 증가에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다.
현재 의병문화학교와 인문학 콘서트, 문화유적 답사, 어린이 체험교실 등 다양한 프로그램을 운영하며 지역민과의 소통을 강화하고 있으며 청년·예술인 지원을 위한 특별전도 꾸준히 개최하고 있다.
특히 올해 상반기에는 국립중앙박물관 국보순회전인 이건희 컬렉션 전시가 열릴 예정이다.
10월에는 의령 리치리치 페스티벌과 연계해 퇴계 선생 처가 '향념'을 주제로 한 전시를 선보인다.
아울러 하반기에는 20억원을 투입해 본관 상설전시실을 새롭게 조성할 계획이다.
의병박물관은 앞으로도 전시 고도화와 문화·교육 프로그램 확대를 통해 의병 정신을 계승하고 군민과 함께하는 열린 박물관으로서의 역할을 강화해 나갈 방침이다.
