원주시는 오는 9일부터 12일까지 4일간 아랍에미리트(UAE) 두바이에서 열리는 ‘2026 두바이 월드헬스 엑스포(WHX)’에 참가한다고 밝혔다.
이번 엑스포는 독일의 MEDICA, 미국의 FIME 등과 함께 '세계 4대 의료기기 전시회'로 꼽히는 권위 있는 행사다. 중동과 아프리카(MENA) 지역 의료 시장으로 진출하기 위한 필수 관문으로 통하며, 전 세계 바이어와 병원 관계자들이 대거 집결한다.
원주시는 강원특별자치도, 춘천시, 원주의료기기산업진흥원과 손잡고 ‘강원공동관’을 운영해 시너지 효과를 노린다. 공동관에 참여하는 23개 기업 중 원주 소재 기업은 18개 사에 달한다. 이들은 ▲진단·치료 기기 ▲디지털 기반 헬스케어 ▲AI 진단 솔루션 ▲초음파 미용기기 등 첨단 기술이 집약된 제품을 선보이며 현지 바이어들의 눈길을 사로잡을 예정이다.
