이철우 도지사는 산불대응 1단계가 발령된 문무대왕면 일대의 산불 진화를 위해 헬기 및 소방 장비 등을 총동원할 것을 주문했다. 아울러 양남면 야산에서 발생한 산불도 조속히 진화할 것을 지시했다. 포항 죽장면에서 발생한 산불 역시 확산되지 않도록 조기에 진화하고 장비를 신속하게 동원해 빠르게 조치할 것을 당부했다.
이번 대응 지시는 산불 발생 직후 신속하게 이루어졌으며 경북도 산림자원국과 소방본부 등 유관 기관 간 긴밀한 협조 체계가 가동되었다. 현장에서는 진화 장비와 지상 소방 인력이 투입되어 화재 진압 작업이 진행 중이며 산림청과 협조해 해가 뜨는대로 헬기를 투입할 계획이다.
아울러 경주시와 협력해 인명피해가 발생하지 않도록 산불발생지역 인근 주민 대피시피고 대피문자를 발송하는 등 안전 확보에도 만전을 기하고 있다.
이철우 도지사는 산불 피해를 최소화하기 위해 가용 자원을 모두 동원해 신속히 진화에 나서야 한다고 강조했다. 또한 주민 안전을 최우선으로 하여 대피 및 안전 조치에 철저를 기할 것을 당부했다.
아울러 관계 기관 간 긴밀한 협력을 통해 동시다발 산불 상황에 효과적으로 대응해 줄 것을 주문했다.
