Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province, Holds Encouragement Meeting for National Winter Sports Festival Medalists Kim Beom-su and Kwon Kyung-hyun

[Break News Yangju = Reporter Kim Wan-young] On the 6th, Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Soo-hyun) hosted an encouragement meeting for medalists who achieved outstanding results at the 107th National Winter Sports Festival.
The event was designed to commend the efforts of athletes who achieved outstanding results at the national competition and share the potential for growth in local ice sports.
Kim Beom, a third-year student at Deokhyeon Middle School, and Kwon Kyung-hyun, a first-year student at Deokhyeon Middle School, attended the meeting. Kim Beom won three gold medals in speed skating, taking first place in the men's 5,000m, 3,000m, and team pursuit events for the under-15 age group. Kwon Kyung-hyun also placed third in the women's 3,000m short track speed skating event for the under-15 age group.
The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Yangju, Yangju City Sports Council President Lim Jae-geun, athletes, parents, and sports council officials. Yang Jeong-hyeon, President of the Yangju Citizens' Association, also attended to congratulate and encourage the athletes' achievements.
Yang Jeong-hyeon said, "The athletes' achievements are deeply meaningful to the local community," and added, "I hope that the citizens will continue to support and show interest."
Building on this success, Yangju City plans to strengthen its support for the synergistic growth of school and elite sports. It will also continue to strengthen the competitiveness of local sports by expanding ice rink infrastructure, including hosting international skating rinks.
