【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 증평군이 찾아가는 아동권리 및 아동학대 예방교육을 올해부터 확대 운영하며 아동 권리 보호를 위한 현장 중심 교육에 나선다.
군은 9일 군청 소회의실에서 고위공직자 대상 아동권리교육을 시작으로, 지역 내 아동과 아동 관련 종사자, 보호자, 지역사회 구성원을 대상으로 찾아가는 교육을 순차적으로 추진한다.
이번 교육은 18세 미만 아동은 물론 아동·청소년 관련 기관 종사자, 보호자, 정치인, 마을 이장 등 아동을 둘러싼 다양한 주변인을 대상으로 진행된다.
특히 올해는 아동권리교육과 아동학대 예방교육을 2회기 과정으로 연계 운영해, 아동의 권리 인식부터 학대 예방으로 이어지는 체계적인 교육 구조를 마련했다.
교육 내용은 △유엔아동권리협약 △아동의 4대 권리 △아동학대 예방 등으로 구성되며, 학교와 기관 등 희망하는 현장을 전문 강사가 직접 찾아가 대면 방식으로 진행한다.
교육 운영은 아동학대 예방과 아동권리 보호를 전문으로 하는 충북중부아동보호전문기관이 맡는다.
앞서 2025년 교육에는 총 28회, 775명이 참여해 전년 대비 참여 인원이 크게 증가했으며, 만족도 조사에서 참여자의 96% 이상이 재교육 참여 의사를 밝히는 등 높은 호응을 얻었다.
군은 이러한 성과를 바탕으로 올해부터 초·중·고 학생과 공직자·정치인 등 성인을 대상으로 유관기관과의 협업을 강화해 아동 권리 존중 문화 확산에 나설 계획이다.
군 관계자는 “아동이 자신의 권리를 알고, 지역사회 구성원 모두가 아동 보호의 주체라는 인식을 갖는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다”며 “앞으로도 찾아가는 교육을 통해 아동 권리 존중 문화가 지역사회 전반에 확산될 수 있도록 지속적으로 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
