이재명 대통령이 10일 훈련 임무 수행 중 순직한 고 정상근·장희성 준위를 추모하며 "합당한 예우· 지원에 소홀함 없도록 하겠다"고 밝혔다.
이 대통령은 이날 오전 엑스 (X·구 트위터)에 "혹한의 기상 여건 속에서 훈련 임무를 수행하던 중 세상을 떠난 고 정상근·장희성 준위의 숭고한 희생에 머리숙여 경의를 표한다"며 이같이 적었다.
그러면서 "두 분께선 마지막까지 조종간을 놓지 않으며 국민 생명·안전을 지켜냈다"며 "사고 발생 지점은 주택가서 불과 60미터 남짓 떨어진 곳이었다"고 했다.
이어 "조금만 방향이 틀어졌더라면 더 큰 인명 피해로 이어질 수 있었던 상황이었다"며 "참된 군인의 헌신·희생 위에 오늘날 평온한 일상이 있음을 늘 기억하겠다"고 했다.
또 "자랑스러운 아들이자 남편· 아버지를 떠나보내야 하는 유가족 여러분께 깊은 애도·위로를 전한다"며 "감히 그 슬픔을 헤아릴 순 없으나 합당한 예우·지원에 소홀함 없도록 하겠다"고 덧붙였다.
