충청광역연합의회, 제8회 임시회 마무리… 통합 논의·정책 제안 활발

충청권 공동행정의 협의체인 충청광역연합의회가 13일 제8회 임시회 제2차 본회의를 끝으로 5일간의 회기 일정을 마무리했다.

이번 임시회에서는 충청광역연합의 2026년도 주요업무계획을 보고받고, 결의안을 포함한 총 8건의 안건을 심사해 의결했다. 특히 본회의에서는 각 의원들의 결의안 발의와 ‘5분 자유발언’을 통해 행정통합, 청년정책, 에너지 인프라 등 폭넓은 주제가 논의됐다.

유인호 의원(세종)은 ‘충청권 통합 논의에 따른 충청광역연합 위상 정립 및 국가 지원 촉구 결의안’을 발의하며, 충청권의 주체적 위상 확보와 중앙정부의 제도적 뒷받침 필요성을 강조했다. 이

또한 안경자 의원(세종)은 “행정통합 논의에 앞서 광역연합 제도가 실제로 기능할 수 있는지를 검증해야 한다”는 의견을 밝혔고, 김응규 의원(충남·아산2)은 “대전·충남 행정통합 추진 당위성에 맞춰 충청광역연합의 역할과 비전을 모색해야 한다”고 강조했다.

김응규 의장 직무대리는 본회의를 마무리하며 “의회에서 의결된 안건들이 충청권 상생 발전의 밑거름이 되도록 집행기관이 책임 있게 이행해야 한다”며 “연합의회 역시 지역 균형발전과 주민 삶의 질 향상을 위해 실질적 성과를 내겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 충청광역연합의회는 오는 6월 25일부터 30일까지 제9회 임시회를 열어 연합정책 질문과 조례 제·개정안을 심의할 예정이다. 이번 회기가 충청권 행정협력체로서 광역연합의 실질적 기능을 점검하는 계기가 될 것으로 기대된다.
