[노병한의 관상·칼럼]동양 철학과 명리·사주·팔자·운세·관상을 다루는 분야에서 운명과 노력에 대한 통찰이 어우러져 오래전부터 운세·길흉화복에 관해 짧으나 몇 가지 고전 명구(名句)와 명언(名言)이 전해져 오고 있다. 그런 내용 중에 가장 널리 인용되며 의미가 깊은 사례에는 뭐가 있을까.
대표적으로 ‘운(運)이 왔을 때는 누구도 막을 수 없다.’ ‘행운을 움켜쥐려면 다가올 운(運)을 예측하여 미리 준비하고 대응해야 한다.’ ‘행운이 찾아오지 않는 데에는 그럴 만한 이유가 있다.’ 등이다.

운은 늘 조용하고 잔잔하게 밀려드는 게 아니라, 운은 파도처럼 출렁거리며 주기적으로 밀려온다. 어떤 사람은 그런 운의 파도를 타고 순조롭게 올라가기도 하고, 어떤 사람은 준비가 안 돼 파도에 그대로 휩쓸려 가기도 한다. 그래서 옛말에 다가오는 운은 막을 수 없지만, 그 운을 어떻게 쓰느냐 하는 건 전적으로 사람의 몫이다.
운이 왔을 때라도 ‘누리는 자와 누리지 못하는 자’로 갈리는 건 다음의 3가지 때문이다. 그 운을 ‘알아보는 눈·받아낼 그릇·움직일 용기’라는 3가지가 갖춰져 있으면 작은 운도 대운으로 쓸 수 있지만, 이런 3가지를 갖추지 못한 경우엔 큰 대운이 와도 그냥 지나감이 자연의 섭리이다.
