【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구시교육청이 대구교육박물관의 전시와 체험 환경을 새롭게 바꾼다.
시교육청은 총 14억2천만 원을 투입해 ‘공간 재구조화 사업’을 추진하고, 오는 5월 말까지 공사를 마칠 계획이다.
이번 공사를 통해 전시, 체험, 휴식이 어우러진 통합 교육공간으로 박물관을 새 단장한다는 방침이다.
사업의 핵심은 기존 공간의 역할을 조정해 관람 동선을 효율적으로 만들고, 체험활동의 효과를 높이는데 있다. 기존 VR체험실은 학생 주도형 교육체험실로 바뀐다. 최근 강조되는 IB 프로그램 등 다양한 자기주도 탐구 활동과 연결될 수 있도록 다목적 공간으로 꾸며진다. 소규모 실습과 토론, 발표 수업도 한 공간에서 이뤄질 수 있도록 했으며, 모듈형 구조가 적용돼 하루 체험학습 수용 인원도 크게 늘어날 전망이다.
기획전시실 역시 1층에서 2층으로 자리를 옮긴다. 이 과정에서 전시 면적이 25% 더 넓어져 관람 동선은 물론, 보존·보안 기능도 한층 강화된다. 박물관 측은 앞으로 대형 특별전이나 교류전도 적극 유치할 수 있는 기반을 갖춘다는 구상이다. 로비 공간은 기존보다 43% 넓어져 안내, 홍보, 휴식 공간이 한 번에 어우러진다. 또, 단체 관람객을 위한 접수와 대기 공간도 마련돼 혼잡을 줄이고, 유동 인원 관리도 한결 수월해질 것으로 보인다.
공사가 진행되는 동안에도 박물관 전체가 휴관되는 일은 없다. 고고학체험실, 상설전시실, 유아휴게실 등 주요 전시와 체험 공간은 정상 운영된다. 다만, 공사 구간에 따라 일부 동선이 제한되고 임시 안내도 이뤄질 예정이다. 시교육청은 학급 단체 관람객에게 사전 예약과 안전수칙을 준수해달라고 당부했다.
시교육청은 이번 재구조화로 학생들이 스스로 탐구하고 체험하는 학습환경이 더욱 강화될 것으로 기대하고 있다. 공사가 완료되면 학생 맞춤형 교육 프로그램과 특별전시도 더욱 확대할 계획이다.
