성광진 대전교육감 예비후보가 2월 20일, 유성구 죽동지구와 동구 성남동 구성지구에 중학교를 신설하겠다는 공약을 내놓았다.
이번 공약은 대전 동·서 교육 격차를 해소하고, 아이들이 안전하게 통학할 수 있는 환경을 조성하며, 학생 과밀화 문제 해결과 지역 균형발전을 도모하기 위한 교육 인프라 확충 계획이다.
