‘미래 교육을 위한 대전시민교육감 단일화 시민회의’가 대전지역 진보 교육감 후보 단일화를 위한 본격적인 절차에 돌입했다.
대전·충남 행정통합 논의가 가속화되는 가운데, 시민회의는 성광진, 맹수석, 정산신, 강재구 등 출마 예정자를 대상으로 2개의 여론조사기관을 선정, 인지도 조사와 후보 적합도 조사를 실시를 통해 단일 후보 선출을 추진 중이다.
그 중 성광진 대전교육감 예비후보가 2월 20일 가장 먼저 경선 후보 등록을 마쳤다.
그는 대전 교육의 방향과 공공성 회복에 강한 의지를 보이며 “이번 단일화 경선은 신뢰 회복과 체질 개선의 출발점”이라며, “교육 현장과 시민사회 경험을 바탕으로 가장 준비된 후보로서 책임 있게 시민 앞에 나서겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.
시민회의 측은 2월 23일까지 후보 등록을 접수하고, 2월 말 정책 토론을 거친 뒤 단일화를 완료할 계획이다.
