[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 의령군은 2027년산 공공비축미곡 매입품종으로 ‘영호진미’와 ‘새청무’를 선정했다고 20일 밝혔다.
군은 지난달 22일 공공비축미곡 매입품종 선정심의회를 열어 사전에 읍·면에서 추천한 품종을 적극 반영해 최종 확정했다.
‘영호진미’는 종자 보급이 원활하고 비바람에도 잘 쓰러지지 않는 특성을 갖춰 재배 안정성이 높으며, 밥맛이 우수한 것이 장점이다.
‘새청무’는 국내산 단일 품종으로 쌀알이 맑고 단단해 품질이 뛰어나다는 평가를 받고 있다.
군 관계자는 “새청무의 경우 보급종이 경남 지역에 공급되지 않는 점을 고려해 농가에서는 자체 종자 확보에 각별한 준비를 해주시길 바란다”고 말했다.
