이재명 대통령이 21일 '2026 밀라노·코르티나담페초 동계올림픽'에서 한국 쇼트트랙 대표팀의 금메달 1·은메달 2개 추가 획득 관련해 축하를 건넸다.
이 대통령은 이날 오후 페이스북에 “세계 최강임을 다시 한번 입증했다”며 "쇼트트랙 남자 5000m 계주 은메달을 거머쥔 황대헌·이정민·이준서·임종언·신동민 선수에게 뜨거운 박수를 보낸다”고 적었다.
그러면서 여자 1500m 결승에서 각각 1·2위를 차지한 김길리·최민정 선수에게도 축하를 건넨 가운데 "김 선수는 이번 올림픽에서 자그마치 세 개 메달을 기록하며 또다시 시상대 가장 높은 자리에 섰다"며 "올림픽 첫 출전에서 이뤄낸 놀라운 성취”라고 했다.
또 "최 선수는 우리나라 선수 중 올림픽 최다 메달리스트란 새로운 기록을 세웠다”며 “그의 여정은 그 자체로 대한민국 스포츠의 자랑스러운 역사”라고 했다.
이어 “정부는 우리 선수들이 안정·체계적 환경에서 훈련하며 역량을 마음껏 펼칠 수 있도록 적극 뒷받침할 것”이라며 “국제 무대서 자신 있게 경쟁할 수 있는 기반을 더욱 강화해 나가겠다”고 덧붙였다.
