이재명 대통령이 23일 “한·브라질의 전략적 동반자 관계 이행을 위한 4개년 행동 계획을 지금 채택케 되었음을 진심 환영한다”고 밝혔다.
이 대통령은 이날 오전 청와대 본관 2층 집현실에서 열린 루이스 이나시우 룰라 다 시우바 브라질 대통령과의 확대 정상회담 모두 발언에서 “룰라 대통령의 대한민국 방문을 국민 모두와 함께 진심 환영하며 지구 반대편에서 먼 길 와주신 점에 정말 감사드린다”며 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 “정부 출범 후 처음 맞이하는 중남미 정상이자 21년 만에 이뤄진 브라질 정상의 국빈 방한이란 점에서 이번 방문 의미가 참 남다르다”며 "양국 협력 미래·국제사회에 대한 공동 책임에 대해 허심탄회한 대화를 나눴던 기억이 생생하다”고 했다.
이어 "지속적 교류·상호 방문을 통해 양국 관계 새 도약을 이끌어 가기로 했던 약속이 이번 만남을 계기로 더욱 굳건히 지켜지게 될 것으로 확신한다”며 "대한민국·브라질은 오랜 세월 깊은 우정을 쌓아왔다”고 했다.

더불어 “룰라 대통령께선 2004년 재임 시절 한·브라질 간 포괄적 협력 동반자 관계 수립을 이끌었던 장본인”이라며 “당시 성과를 토대로 양국은 지난 22년 무역·투자·과학기술·우주·방산·문화 등 다양한 분야에서 실질 협력 관계를 꾸준히 발전시켜 왔다”고 했다.
이 대통령은 “식량 안보·중소 기업·과학 기술·보건·의료·핵심 광물·에너지 전환·환경·우주·문화에 이르기까지 양국은 광범위한 분야로 양자 협력을 제도화해 나갈 것”이라며 "오늘 이뤄낸 교류 협력의성과가 양국 국민들 삶을 더욱 풍요롭게 만들 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
룰라 대통령은 “감사하다. 양자 협정을 통해 브라질·한국 기업에 대해 원가를 줄이고 확장시킬 수 있도록 하겠다”며 “중요 핵심 광물·반도체·녹색 수소·제약 등 전략적 부문 생산 통합을 강화하겠다”고 화답했다.
