이재명 대통령이 23일 '2026 밀라노·코르티나담페초 동계올림픽' 선수단에게 "앞으로 이어질 여러분의 모든 도전 역시 대한민국 국민과 함께 한마음으로 응원하겠다"고 전했다.
이 대통령은 이날 오후 엑스(X·구 트위터)에 "이탈리아 밀라노·코르티나에서 17일 간 펼쳐진 열전이 막을 내렸다"며 "자랑스러운 우리 선수들 덕에 2026년 겨울은 그 어느 때보다 따뜻했다"며 이같이 적었다.
그러면서 "한계를 뛰어넘는 도전으로 뜨거운 감동·자부심을 안겨준 대한민국 국가대표 선수단 여러분 정말 고생 많으셨다"며 "선수단이 최고 경기력을 발휘할 수 있도록 보이지 않는 곳에서 애써주신 수많은 지원 인력·정성 어린 식사로 힘을 보태주신 조리사와 영양사분들·현지에서 한국 문화 품격을 널리 알린 코리아하우스 관계자 여러분께도 깊은 감사를 전하며 모두 고맙다"고 덧붙였다.
이번 동계올림픽에서 한국 선수단은 금메달 3·은메달 4·동메달 3개를 획득해 종합 순위 13위를 기록했다.
