【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=행복북구문화재단 대현도서관이 상반기 웹툰 창작 프로그램을 운영하며 지역 독서 및 창작문화 확산에 나선다.
도서관은 이번 프로그램을 초등학생부터 성인, 어르신까지 전 세대를 대상으로 5개 강좌로 구성해 총 50명을 모집했다. 웹툰 매개 창작 활동을 통해 도서관을 일상 속 문화 창작 거점으로 넓히겠다는 취지다.
‘나만의 웹툰 만들기’(초등 3~6학년), ‘흔한남매 그림작가와 함께하는 웹툰 창작 교실’(초등 5학년 이상~성인), ‘웹툰 여행’ 등 웹툰 이해 중심 프로그램이 마련된다. 강북·서변노인복지관을 방문해 진행되는 어르신 대상 웹툰 창작 강좌도 포함됐다.
교육 과정은 웹툰 기초부터 캐릭터, 콘티 구성, 디지털 드로잉, 편집과 연출까지 단계적으로 진행된다. 초등생은 표현과 흥미 중심, 성인 과정은 디지털 툴을 활용한 심화 과정, 어르신 프로그램은 이야기 나누기와 그림 표현을 결합한 참여형 수업으로 운영된다.
강의에는 인기 웹툰 시리즈에 참여한 현직 그림작가와 전문 강사가 나서 현장감을 더한다. 수강생이 창작한 작품은 도서관 홈페이지와 SNS에서 전시·소개될 예정이다.
대현도서관 관계자는 “웹툰 창작을 통해 독서와 이야기가 자연스럽게 이어지는 경험을 제공할 것”이라며 “세대가 함께하는 프로그램으로 지역 문화 저변을 넓혀가겠다”고 말했다.

The Daehyun Library of the Happy Buk-gu Cultural Foundation will run a webtoon creation program in the first half of the year, promoting reading and creative culture in the region.
The library has recruited a total of 50 participants for this program, which consists of five courses for all ages, from elementary school students to adults and seniors. The goal is to expand the library into a hub for everyday cultural creation through webtoon-based creative activities.
Programs focusing on understanding webtoons include "Create Your Own Webtoon" (elementary school grades 3-6), "Webtoon Creation Class with the Common Brothers and Sisters" (elementary school grades 5 and above to adults), and "Webtoon Journey." Webtoon creation classes for seniors will also be held at the Gangbuk and Seobyeon Senior Welfare Centers.
The curriculum will cover everything from webtoon basics to character creation, storyboard composition, digital drawing, editing, and directing. Elementary school students will focus on expression and interest, while the adult program will focus on advanced digital tools. The senior program will be an interactive class that combines storytelling and drawing.
The lectures will be enhanced by current illustrators and professional instructors who have participated in popular webtoon series. The students' works will be exhibited and featured on the library's website and social media.
A Daehyun Library representative stated, "Through webtoon creation, we will provide an experience where reading and storytelling naturally flow together. We will broaden the local cultural base through programs that engage all generations."
