이재명이 대통령이 25일 더불어민주당 상임고문단을 만나 "현재 민주당이 어려운 환경 속에서도 본연 역할을 매우 잘해줘 감사하다"고 했다. 고문단 회동은 지난해 8월 21일 이후 약 6개월 만이다.
청와대에 따르면 이 대통령은 이날 낮 청와대 본관에서 열린 민주당 상임고문단 오찬 간담회 모두 발언에서 "대통령이란 직분은 특정 한쪽 편을 드는 게 아니다"며 "(대통령) 선거 때까지 한쪽 편으로서 이기긴 했으나 다음 순간부터 모두를 통합해 함께 가는 국정을 해 나가야 한다"고 했다.
그러면서 "그런 면에서 여전히 부족하나 그래도 끊임없이 (통합에) 노력하겠다"며 "국민이 지금보다 더 나은 내일을 향유하도록 최선을 다하겠다"고 했다.
이어 "수없이 많은 경험·경륜으로 갖게 된 고견을 말해주면 국정에 참고하겠다"고 했다.
오찬엔 민주당 권노갑·이용득 상임고문·한명숙·정세균 전 국무총리·김원기·임채정·문희상·김진표·박병석 전 국회의장·정동영 통일부 장관 등 당 원로들과 청와대 홍익표 정무수석·이규연 홍보소통수석·정무특보 조정식 의원 등이 참석했다.
