대전 서구가 주민들의 시각으로 도시 전반의 성평등 수준을 점검하고, 모두가 살기 좋은 여성친화도시를 만들기 위한 소통과 배움의 장을 마련했다.
대전 서구는 25일 구청 장태산실에서 ‘여성친화도시 서포터즈’ 정기회의를 개최하고, 주민 참여 역량을 높이기 위한 전문 교육을 실시했다고 밝혔다.
여성친화도시 서포터즈는 구민들이 직접 지역 정책과 도시 환경 전반을 성인지적 관점에서 모니터링하고, 일상 속 불편 사항을 찾아 개선 의견을 제안하는 핵심적인 주민 참여 기구다.
이날 회의에는 30여 명의 서포터즈 회원이 참석해 지난해 활동 성과를 되짚어보고, 올해 집중적으로 점검할 지역 선정과 구체적인 활동 방향에 대해 머리를 맞댔다.
서포터즈는 지난해 11월 위촉된 20세 이상의 서구민들로 구성되었으며, 오는 2027년까지 2년 동안 서구의 성평등 문화를 확산시키는 파수꾼 역할을 수행하게 된다.
특히 이번 행사에서는 서포터즈의 전문성을 강화하기 위해 충남사회서비스원 이경하 박사의 특강도 진행됐다.
이 박사는 ‘서구 정책에 성인지 관점의 주민 요구를 담다’라는 주제로 여성친화도시의 개념과 주민참여단의 역할, 그리고 실제 도시 공간이 주민 참여를 통해 어떻게 변화했는지에 대한 생생한 사례를 전달해 참석자들의 큰 호응을 얻었다.
서구 관계자는 성인지 관점이 정책의 사각지대를 해소하고 지역사회를 더욱 세밀하게 변화시키는 중요한 동력이라고 강조했다.
또한 주민들이 안심하고 행복하게 생활할 수 있는 환경을 조성하기 위해 앞으로도 서포터즈와 긴밀하게 협력하며 현장의 목소리를 구정에 반영하겠다고 밝혔다.
