이재명 대통령이 28일 미국·이스라엘의 이란 공격 사태 관련해 "교민 안전을 최우선하라"고 지시했다고 청와대가 전했다.
강유정 대변인은 이날 오후 언론 공지에서 "이 대통령은 이날 이란 상황을 보고받고, 국내에 미치는 영향 관련 대책 등을 점검하는 한편 이란·인근 한국 교민 안전을 최우선하라고 지시했다"고 전했다.
한편 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령은 이날 (현지시간) 미군이 이란에 대한 대규모 군사 작전을 개시했다고 공식 발표한 가운데 자신의 트루스소셜 영상 연설에서 "이번 작전 목표는 이란 정권의 임박한 위협을 제거함으로써 미국인을 보호하는 것"이라며 "이란이 핵 프로그램 재건을 시도 했으며 미 본토를 위협할 수 있는 장거리 미사일을 개발하고 있다"고 밝혔다.
