최민호 세종시장, 3·1절 기념사서 “역경 속 행정수도 완성" 다짐

세종특별자치시 최민호 시장이 제107주년 3·1절을 맞아 선열들의 독립정신을 계승해 행정수도 완성과 미래전략수도 건설을 시대적 소명으로 삼겠다고 다짐했다.

최민호 시장은 1일 시청 여민실에서 열린 기념행사 기념사에서 “107년 전 3·1운동의 숭고한 정신처럼 어떠한 어려움도 꿋꿋이 이겨낸 순국선열들의 자주·번영 가치를 바탕으로 세종시는 지속적 성장을 이뤘다”고 평가했다. 

그러나 현재 긴축 재정과 불평등한 재정구조, 광역 행정통합에 따른 역차별 우려 등 위기 국면을 지적하며 “역사에서 배운 극복의 힘으로 행정수도 완성을 향한 새로운 도약을 이뤄내겠다”고 강조했다.

이를 실현하기 위해 구체적인 로드맵을 제시했다. 행정·재정 특례 완수와 행정수도 세종 개헌 명문화, 대통령실·국회 완전 이전, 미이전 중앙행정기관·공공기관 추가 이전, 세종지방법원 설치 등을 기필코 달성하겠다는 강한 의지를 보였다. 

최 시장은 “올해는 대내외 어려움 속 미래를 결정짓는 중요한 해”라며 올해 시정 사자성어로 정한 ‘월파출해(越波出海)’ 정신으로 창조와 도전의 미래전략수도를 건설하겠다고 역설했다.

그는 “세종은 행정수도를 넘어 대한민국을 선도하는 국가 운영의 심장으로 도약할 것”이라며 행정수도 완성의 국가적 의미를 부각시켰다.

이날 행사에는 독립유공자 유족, 광복회원, 보훈단체 등 300여 명이 참석해 독립선언서 낭독, 3·1절 노래 제창, 만세삼창으로 순국선열의 정신을 되새겼다.
