충남대학교병원이 생체 간이식에서 공여자(기증자)를 위한 로봇수술을 중부권 최초로 성공시키며 첨단 의료의 새로운 기준을 세웠다.
간담췌외과 김석환 교수가 집도한 이번 수술은 건강한 가족 기증자의 간 일부를 정밀 절제하는 고난도 과정에서 로봇의 3차원 고해상도 시야와 손 떨림 보정 기술을 활용해 출혈과 합병증 위험을 획기적으로 낮췄다.
생체 간이식은 뇌사자 장기 기증이 부족한 국내에서 말기 간질환자의 생명을 구하는 핵심 치료법이다.
하지만 공여자 본인의 건강을 최우선으로 고려해야 하는 만큼 혈관·담관이 복잡하게 얽힌 간 구조를 손상 없이 다루는 정교함이 필수적이다.
로봇수술은 기존 개복·복강경 수술의 한계를 넘어 세밀한 해부 확인과 안정적 절제를 가능케 해 기증자 회복 속도를 앞당긴다.
김석환 교수는 "기증자 안전이 모든 것"이라며 "간암·담도암 로봇수술 경험을 바탕으로 공여자 적용까지 확대한 결과로, 이번 성공은 기술 혁신이 아닌 축적된 노하우의 결실"이라고 밝혔다.
충남대병원은 이미 고난도 간담췌 수술에서 로봇을 안정적으로 운용하며 지역 의료 수준을 입증한 바 있다.
장기이식센터(센터장 전광식 교수)는 "수도권 원정 없이 지역에서 세계적 수준의 간이식 치료를 제공하겠다"며 공여자·수혜자 안전을 최우선으로 지속 발전을 약속했다.
