(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천 서부경찰서가 지난 3일 경찰서 4층 대강당에서 2026년도 선발된 아동안전지킴이‘발대식’을 개최했다고 밝혔다. 

서부경찰서에 따르면, 이번 아동안전지킴이는 치열한 경쟁 속에서 서류심사, 체력검사, 면접심사를 거쳐 공정한 절차에 따라 총 118명이 선발됐다. 

이날 발대식에는 최종 선발된 아동안전지킴이 118명이 참석한 가운데, 위촉장 수여와 근무 수칙 교양 등 현장에서 필요한 직무교육이 함께 진행됐다. 

아동안전지킴이는 4일부터 관내 54개 초등학교에 2명씩 배치되어 어린이 통행이 많은 학교 주변을 중심으로 집중 순찰을 실시하며 아동 범죄 예방 및 청소년 선도를 위한 치안 보조 인력으로 다양한 활동을 전개할 예정이다.

이임걸 서부경찰서장은“ 아동안전지킴이는 지역사회와 함께 아이들의 안전을 지키는 중요한 역할을 수행하는 만큼, 사명감을 가지고 활동해 주시길 바란다.”고 당부했다.
