‘미래 교육을 위한 대전 시민 교육감 단일화 시민회의’(이하 시민회의)가 대전 민주진보 교육감 경선 후보 등록을 마감한 결과, 성광진 대전교육연구소장과 강재구 건양대 의과대학 교수 2명이 최종 등록했다.
시민회의는 당초 4명의 후보가 참여할 것으로 예상했으나, 일부 후보의 불참과 절차 중단 요구에 따라 최종 2인 대결 구도로 경선을 진행한다.
시민회의는 경선 과정에서 제기된 ‘단일화 절차 잠정 중단 요구’에 대해 수용 불가 입장을 분명히 했다. 앞서 미등록 후보 측은 대전·충남 행정통합 논의와 서약서 문구의 공정성 문제를 이유로 절차 중단을 주장했다.
