브레이크뉴스 김충열 정치전문기자 = 일본을 공식 방문한 우원식 국회의장이 4일(현지시각) 모리 에이스케 중의원 의장, 세키구치 마사카즈 참의원 의장을 만나 한일 의회 간 교류 확대 방안, 경제협력, 역사 문제, 문화·인적교류 등 현안에 대해 의견을 교환했다.

모리 에이스케 중의원 의장을 만난 우 의장은 지난달 중의원 의장 취임을 축하하면서 "양국 정상 간 셔틀 외교가 안정화되는데 기쁘게 생각하고, 이번 방일을 계기로 양국 의장 간 상호 방문을 정례화해 양국 간 다층적이고 다면적인 협력이 강화되기를 희망한다"고 말했다.
우 의장은 "한일관계를 발전적 미래로 나아가기 위해서는 한일관계가 세 기둥을 조화롭게 맞춰나가야 한다"며 "아픈 역사를 직시하고, 경제협력을 심화하면서, 동북아와 한반도 평화의 동반자로서 협력하자는 것"이라고 강조했다.
이어 "정부 간 교류도 중요하지만 민간의 교류도 굉장히 중요한데, 작년 양국 간 인적교류가 1,300만명을 넘어서는 만큼 한국과 일본은 떼려야 뗄 수 없는 관계"라며 "양국 의회 차원에서 지원하는 방안에 대해서도 더 깊은 논의를 해 나가자"고 제안했다.
