대전시교육청이 2026학년도 봄 학기를 맞아 관내 모든 학교에서 급식이 정상적으로 운영되고 있음을 5일 공식 발표했다.
지난해 교육공무직 노조의 릴레이 파업으로 일시적 급식 차질이 빚어져 특히 대전둔산여고 등 약 17개 학교에서 급식 공백이 발생했으나, 이번 신학기부터는 전면 정상급식 체제를 구축하며 학생 건강권과 학습권 보호에 만전을 기하고 있다.
작년 파업 기간 동안 일부 학교에서는 교직원 및 파업에 참여하지 않은 조리실무사들이 힘 모아 정상 급식을 유지하는 데 힘썼으며, 대전둔산여고 또한 교직원들의 협력으로 11월까지 식사 제공에 차질이 없게 관리해왔다.

근무 환경 개선에도 적극적이다. 올해 1월에는 노후 급식기구 교체를 위해 20억 2천만 원이 각 학교에 지원됐으며, 조리실 환기설비 개선 사업에 111억 3천만 원을 투입하는 등 안전하고 쾌적한 급식 환경 조성을 위해 지속 투자 중이다.
