현재 음성군의 65세 이상 인구 비율은 전국 평균을 넘어서며 빠르게 고령화가 진행되고 있다. 지역 내에 44개의 크고 작은 체육시설이 활발히 운영되고 있지만, 어르신들의 신체적 특성을 세심하게 고려한 맞춤형 체육 공간에 대한 갈증은 꾸준히 제기돼 왔다.
