이재명 대통령이 9일 이란 사태에 따른 중동 위기 상황 관련해 "향후 전개 양상을 예단키 어려운 만큼 정부는 최악 상황까지 염두해 비상한 각오로 선제적 대응책을 마련해야 한다"고 밝혔다.
이 대통령은 이날 오전 청와대 본관에서 열린 중동 상황 비상경제점검회의에서 "중동 지역 위기가 심화되면서 대내외 경제 환경 불확실성이 크게 확대되고 있고, 글로벌 무역·중동 에너지 수입 의존도가 높은 경제에 상당한 부담 요인으로 작용하고 있다"며 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 "경제 혈맥 금융·외환시장 변동성 확대에 적극 대응해 달라"며 "숨겨진 위험을 점검하고 대응 방안을 꼼꼼히 마련해야 한다"고 주문했다.
또 "필요 시 100조 원 규모로 마련돼 있는 시장 안정 프로그램을 적극 확대해야 한다"며 "정부·중앙은행 차원 추가 조치도 선제적으로 준비해야 한다"고 밝혔다.
이어 "어려운 시장 환경을 악용해 부당 이익을 취하려는 세력에 대해 엄단해야 한다"며 "이번 상황을 계기로 자본시장 체질 개선을 위한 개혁 과제도 속도감 있게 추진해 나가면 좋겠다"고 했다.
더불어 "에너지 수급·가계 불안 상황이 엄중한 만큼 상응하는 비상 대책도 필요하다"며 "전략적 협력 국가들과 공조해 호르무즈 해협을 경유 않는 대체 공급선을 신속 발굴해야 한다"고 했다.
이 대통령은 "(정유·주유소 담합·매점매석·사재기 등) 위반 시 그로 인해 생길 이익 몇 배에 해당되는 엄정 제재를 할 필요가 있다"며 "최근 과도하게 인상된 석유 제품에 대해 최고 가격 제도를 신속 도입하고 과감히 시행해야겠다"고 했다.
또 "에너지 가격 상승으로 인한 물가 부담이 서민들에 가장 먼저 크게 돌아간다는 점에서 세심·실효성 있는 대책을 마련해야 한다"며 "이번 중동 위기가 장기화될 경우 실물경제에 미치는 파장이 클 수 있다"고 했다.
