청와대가 9일 "산업통상부에서 석유사업법에 근거 이번 주 내 최고가격제가 시행될 수 있도록 고시 제정 등 관련 절차를 신속 진행 예정"이라고 밝혔다.
김용범 정책실장은 이날 오후 청와대 춘추관에서 중동 상황 비상경제점검회의 관련 브리핑을 통해 "최고가격제 세부 내용은 산업부에서 별도 발표 예정"이라며 이같이 전했다.
그러면서 "이날 오전 중동 상황 비상점검회의에서 국내 석유 제품 가격이 중동 상황 발생 후 구매 물량이 도입되지 않았으나 큰 폭 상승한 원인·대책에 대한 논의가 있었다"며 "정부는 정유 산하 주유소들이 가격을 올릴 때 빨리 올리고 내릴 때는 천천히 내리는 비대칭성에 특히 주목하고 있다"고 했다.
이어 "회의에서 소비 제품 비정상적 가격 결정을 방지하고 가격 예측 가능성 확보를 위해 최고가격제 구체적 시행 방안 논의가 이뤄졌다"며 "대통령은 최대한 신속 추진해달라 주문했다"고 덧붙였다.
