주의보는 13일 0시부터 기상특보 해제 시까지 유지될 예정이다.
연안사고 위험예보제는 기상 악화나 자연재난 등으로 연안해역에서 같은 유형의 안전사고가 반복적으로 발생할 우려가 있을 때 위험성을 사전에 알리는 제도다.
기상청 예보에 따르면 13일 새벽부터 동해남부 전 해상에 초속 7~16m의 강한 바람과 1.0~3.5m의 높은 물결이 일 것으로 전망된다.
이에 포항해경은 기상특보 발효 전 조업선과 항행선에 대해 안전해역 이동과 조기 입항을 유도하는 등 선제적인 안전관리를 실시할 계획이다.
또한 항·포구와 갯바위, 방파제 등 사고 위험이 높은 연안지역을 중심으로 순찰을 강화하고, 지자체 및 관계기관과 협력해 위험지역 출입 자제 홍보 활동도 병행할 방침이다.
이근안 포항해양경찰서장은 “강풍을 동반한 풍랑주의보가 발효된 기간에는 방파제나 갯바위 출입을 자제하고 연안 활동 시 반드시 구명조끼를 착용해야 한다”며 “기상 정보를 수시로 확인하고 안전수칙을 준수해 달라”고 당부했다.
