이재명 대통령이 12일 “독과점적 지위를 남용한 부당한 가격 인상 이제 더 이상은 안 된다”고 밝혔다.
이 대통령은 이날 오후 엑스(X·구 트위터)에 라면·식용유 업체들의 제품 가격 인상 기사를 공유하며 "전 세계서 가장 높은 물가로 악명 높은 대한민국”이라며 이같이 적었다.
그러면서 “상품 가격 인하는 쉽지 않은 일이나 철저한 시장 감시·물가 관리로 국민 부담을 최소한 줄여 나갈 것”이라며 "스스로 가격을 정상화하는 기업들을 제외하고, 부당한 담합·시장지배력 남용 등 부당 행위에 대해선 공정거래위·국세청 수사 기관들이 철저히 감시·조사·제재할 것”이라고 했다.
또 “식용유·라면 업체들이 다음 달 출고분부터 일부 제품 가격을 최대 두 자릿수 수준까지 인하키로 했다는 보고를 받았다”며 “위기 극복에 동참해준 기업들에 감사 인사를 드린다”고 했다.
이어 “이런 변화 시기에 상품 가격을 내리는 경우는 거의 처음 아닌가 싶다”며 “국민 물가 부담 완화·민생 안정에 큰 도움이 될 것”이라고 덧붙였다.
이날 오뚜기·삼양식품 등은 라면·식용유 가격을 인하한데 이어 해태제과 역시 자사 제품 가격을 5% 안팎 수준으로 내리기로 했다.
한편 이 대통령은 이날 오후 또 엑스(X·구 트위터)에 "대한민국·미합중국 간 전략적 투자 운영·관리를 위한 특별법(대미투자특별법)이 국회 본회의를 통과했다"며 "국가적 과제 앞에 여야가 따로 없다는 것을 보여준 뜻깊은 사례로 경제·안보를 위해 대승적 결단을 내려주신 국회에 깊은 감사를 전한다"고 적었다.
또 "최근 중동지역 위기로 국제 정세·글로벌 경제 환경 불확실성이 커지고 있다"며 "이번 특별법 통과가 한국 기업이 마주한 위기를 완화하고 보다 적극적 투자·협력으로 이어지는 계기가 되길 기대한다"고 했다.
