충남도 특별사법경찰이 아프리카돼지열병(ASF) 재확산 방지를 위한 집중 단속에서 소비기한 지난 축산물을 진열한 업체 4곳을 적발했다. 2월 23일부터 3월 4일까지 진행된 이번 작전에서 총 61개 업소를 점검했다.
단속은 ASF 발생지(보령·당진·홍성)와 외국인 밀집 지역(천안·아산·서산·논산)의 수입식품 전문점에 초점을 맞췄다. 도·시군 특사경 29명이 투입돼 불법 유통 축산물을 철저히 추적했다.
적발된 4건은 모두 ‘소비기한 경과 제품 판매 진열’ 위반으로, 행정처분 등 엄중 조치됐다. 경미한 21건은 현장 지도로 마무지었다.
다행히 수거한 햄·베이컨 등 25건 검사에서 ASF 바이러스는 나오지 않았다.
충남도 관계자는 “영업자 준수사항에 대한 현장 계도를 지속하고 불법 수입 축산물의 유통을 철저히 차단할 것”이라며 “앞으로도 아프리카돼지열병 확산 방지와 안전한 식품 유통 환경 조성을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
이번 단속은 소비자 식중독 피해 예방과 ASF 방역망 강화라는 두 마리 토끼를 잡은 성과로 평가된다. 도는 불법 유통 근절을 위해 상시 모니터링을 이어갈 방침이다.
