청와대가 13일 "이재명 대통령이 국빈 방한하는 에마뉘엘 마크롱 프랑스 대통령과 4월 3일 정상회담을 갖는다"고 전했다.
강유정 대변인은 이날 오전 서면 브리핑을 통해 "양 정상은 4월 3일 오전 공식환영식·정상회담·조약·MOU(양해각서) 서명식·국빈 오찬 등 일정을 소화한다"며 이같이 전했다.
그러면서 "마크롱 대통령 방한은 지난 140년간 쌓아온 신뢰 위에 구축된 양국 관계를 한층 더 전략·미래지향인 관계로 발전시켜 나가기 위한 중요 이정표가 될 것"이라며 "국제사회의 지속 가능하고 포용적 성장·번영에 기여하기 위한 양국 공동 노력 강화 계기가 될 걸로 기대된다"고 전했다.
마크롱 대통령은 오는 4월 2~3일 방한하는 가운데 지난 2017년 자신의 취임 후 처음이자 프랑스 대통령으로선 11년 만의 한국 방문이다.
양 정상은 회담에서 한·프 관계를 전략적 수준으로 격상시키기 위해 교역·투자·AI(인공지능)·퀀텀·우주·원자력·교육·문화·인적교류 등 다양한 분야 협력 강화 방안을 협의한다.
또 유엔 안보리 상임이사국 프랑스와 한반도를 비롯 지역 정세·글로벌 이슈 대응 방안 등에 대한 논의도 이뤄질 것으로 보인다.
