【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천군이 전국 최초로 AI와 XR 기반 기술을 활용한 은둔형 학교밖청소년 지원사업 ‘VR로 여는 세상’을 추진하며 사회와의 연결을 지원한다.
XR(eXtended Reality, 확장현실)은 가상현실(VR), 증강현실(AR), 혼합현실(MR)을 모두 아우르는 포괄적인 용어로 최근에는 AI 기술이 결합돼 사용자의 시선이나 손동작을 더 정교하게 읽어내는 방향으로 진화하고 있다.
해당 사업은 외부 활동이 어려운 은둔형 학교밖청소년을 대상으로 AI와 XR 기반 온라인 상담, 사회적응 프로그램, 기초소양 교육, 진로 프로그램 등을 제공하는 사업이다.
특히 이번 사업은 전국 최초로 가상공간에서 AI와 XR 기술을 활용해 실제 현실과 유사한 환경을 체험할 수 있도록 구성된 것이 특징이다.

배이정 센터장은 “은둔형 학교밖청소년들이 사회와 다시 연결되는 계기가 될 수 있도록 새로운 지원 모델을 전국 최초로 마련했다”며 “앞으로도 학교밖청소년들의 건강한 성장을 위해 맞춤형 프로그램을 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
한편 진천군 학교밖청소년지원센터는 학교밖청소년의 학업 복귀, 진로 탐색, 자립 지원을 위해 다양한 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.
