이재명 대통령이 16일 현행 기초연금 부부 감액 제도 관련해 “월수입 수백만 원 되는 노인이나 수입 제로 노인 기초연금액이 똑같다”며 저소득층 노인에게 기초연금을 더 많이 지급하는 방식을 제안했다.
부부가 함께 산다는 이유로 기초연금이 깎이는 현행 부부 감액 제도 손질 시사와 함께 향후 빈곤 노인에게 기초연금을 더 주는 '하후상박' 방식 제도 개선을 제안했다.
이 대통령은 이날 오전 엑스(X·구 트위터)에 보건복지부의 기초연금 개편 관련 보도를 공유하며 "부부가 해로하는 게 불이익받을 일은 아니다"며 "기초연금 감액 피하려 위장 이혼하는 경우까지 있다 한다"고 했다.
